New study to identify top performing workplace initiatives
18 November 2009
Global workforce solutions leader, Kelly Services is teaming up with employment site CareerOne.com.au to research the initiatives being undertaken by Australian organisations to cultivate high performance workforces, and is seeking participants for the study.
The study will address key questions on workforce performance including the actions companies are taking to improve performance, the differences in methods between blue and white collar environments, the qualities that make superior performers, and the infrastructure necessary to achieve this.
Managing Director of Kelly Services, James Bowmer, said efforts to cultivate the workforce may have been swept aside during the economic downturn, and now is an ideal time to reassess how businesses can create a workforce that can drive a recovery.
“The global financial crisis put pressure on many businesses to cut costs from falling revenues. As a result, hiring freezes and downsizing often become the pervasive managerial practice.
“Businesses rely on their people to perform at their optimum level to overcome these challenging times, and it is important for businesses to focus on this key aspect of their operations for the upturn.
“When the talent in an organisation is cultivated effectively, it can have a positive impact on the bottom line. However, this involves time and costs which we want to explore in this study to determine what it takes to implement successful initiatives aimed at creating and managing a high performance workforce.”
Chief executive officer of CareerOne.com.au, Michael Harvey said that workplace performance was important to the greater success of any business.
“Employee engagement is essential to workplace performance and culture. That being said, the process to high employee engagement is no easy task to take on.
“The dynamics in creating a strong workplace culture are complex, but extremely rewarding. As one of Australia’s leading online employment websites, we look forward to working with Kelly Services in identifying the best ways workplaces can create strong workplace performance.”
The findings will reveal the tools, tips and techniques Australian businesses, of all sizes, are executing to build or sustain a high performing workforce. All respondents receive a free copy of the survey results and findings.
Kelly Services and CareerOne.com.au are seeking participants for the study. To participate, visit www.careerone.com.au/performance or www.smartmanager.com.au. The survey will close at the end of December.
